Parece até roteiro de filme hollywoodiano ou documentário de drama musical, mas aconteceu: Em agosto deste ano o músico brasileiro Rafael Bennett foi descoberto pelo guitarrista e produtor JT Harris (Heavens Fire, Toronto) e pelo baterista Alexis Von kraven (Heavens Fire, Moxy, Mapex Drums) através de um vídeo gravado e publicado por um amigo em 2012.
Bennett, entre outros cantores norte americanos e europeus, foi o único sul americano a ser convidado para as audições com a missão de substituir a vaga deixada por Darren James Smith (Harem Scarem, Heavens Fire) assim que o cantor canadense reassumiu o posto na banda “Red Dragon Cartel” do lendário guitarrista Jake E. Lee (Ratt, James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands).
Atualmente Rafael Bennett reside em sua cidade natal (Pelotas-RS) onde cumpre uma agenda de shows e prepara-se para a gravação do terceiro álbum da banda em um dos maiores estúdios da América do norte; o Phase One por onde já passaram artistas como Black Eyed Peas, Bono, Rihanna, Sting, Rush, Andrea Bocelli, Anne Murray, Alterbridge, 50 cent, Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Kiss, Cirque Du Soleil, Manowar, Pink, Whitesnake, entre outros gigantes.
Este registro será feito na cidade de Toronto entre os meses de janeiro e fevereiro sob o comando do renomado Engenheiro Sênior e Produtor “Michael Jack” (The Trews, Rush, Big Sugar, Nelly Furtado, Anne Murray, Rihanna, Bono, Jann Arden e Canadian Tenors). A tour que leva o nome do álbum “Playing With Fire” tem previsão de estreia para junho de 2016 nos festivais do verão europeu.

HEAVENS FIRE have announced their new vocalist to be RAFAEL BENNETT, who hails from Brazil. HF states on their Facebook page, “[…] finding the right guy was not as easy task. We were searching all year long for the right voice to not only do our last album “Judgement Day” justice but to also fit in with the new material on our upcoming release. We also needed a certain level of commitment and professional attitude as well as a down to earth personality. After exchanging about 1000 Facebook messages, having him submit 3 recordings of our tunes, 3 recordings of covers and the time to listen to these recordings many, many times, we came to the 100% conclusion we found our guy! A couple of European labels chimed in as well and they love him too which was very important to us that he also appeal to the European market. We are VERY excited to have found him and can’t wait to get on stage together!” The band also adds that, vocally, Rafael “…displays tremendous range, power and passion. He is currently working on lyrics to our new album “Playing With Fire” and is expected to be in Phase One Studios just after the holidays to start recording the vocals of the new album”.
